Brendan Rodgers is delighted to have secured the deadline-day signing of Jeffrey Schlupp, insisting the Ghana international will thrive at Celtic.

The 32-year-old utility man joined on loan from Crystal Palace for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, adding much-needed experience and versatility to the squad.

“I am really pleased that we have been able to bring Jeffrey to the club.
“I know he will love it at Celtic and I am sure our fans will love him and what he can bring to us.
“He is a fantastic guy, someone with real high-level experience and with great attributes including power, pace and versatility.
“I know that he can be a really important addition to our squad this season.”
Schlupp’s ability to play at left-back, left-wing, or in midfield makes him a decent addition as Celtic push for domestic and European success. His arrival fills the gap left by Alex Valle, providing competition for Greg Taylor while also offering cover in wide areas.
He’s on a six-month loan, and will fill the gap until Tierney returns in the summer. The fan favourite has signed a pre-contract with the Hoops, but Arsenal weren’t keen on letting him make an early Celtic return in January.
With Celtic set to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League knockout stage, Rodgers will hope Schlupp’s Premier League experience proves vital in big games.
While Schlupp strengthens the squad, Celtic’s failure to sign a striker remains a major talking point after Kyogo Furuhashi’s departure. With the window now shut, Rodgers must make do with what he has—but he remains certain that Schlupp will be a huge asset for the remainder of the season.
