Rodgers Admits Celtic Can’t Address Some Positions Until The Summer

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt to strengthen his Celtic squad this January. The Hoops gaffer, though, is under no illusions and realises some positions may have to wait to be addressed.

The gaffer understands that in the transfer market, not everything can be done in the blink of an eye: “We have a number of positions that we want to prioritise of course”, he said (STV Sport). “There are positions that we won’t be able to do anything about until the summer, but we want to improve the squad and the club are happy to support that.”

Supporters could probably pick out the areas of the squad that Rodgers and Co will ‘prioritise’. We will likely see arrivals in those positions later this month.

As the Irishman admitted, however, there are parts of the team that won’t be looked at until the summer window. This may well frustrate some fans, but the manager is best placed to know what is needed immediately and what can wait.

Every day, Rodgers works with the players and in his judgement, supporters must have faith.
