Celtic youngster Rocco Vata was once again on the bench for the first team at the weekend against Ross County. Unlike versus Buckie Thistle, though, the Irish youth international didn’t get subbed on.
Vata remained on the sidelines throughout the ninety, with the Hoops boasting a slender lead for more than most of the match. Perhaps if the hosts were in a more comfortable position, the 18-year-old would have gotten some vital minutes.

He didn’t, but that hasn’t stopped speculation about his contract from raging on. Brendan Rodgers stated last week that there is an offer of a new deal on the table for the forward, and the details of that have now surfaced.
Per Italian journalist Nicolo Schira on X, the club have offered Vata a new four-year deal. It is said that the player will answer in the next few days.
Currently, Vata’s deal at Celtic is set to expire in the summer. The Scottish champions seem eager to keep him, and it appears that we will find out if they manage to do so imminently.
