Celtic’s former player Robbie Keane has been named the new manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv linking up with former Celtic star Nir Bitton.

Keane is now set to bring his football prowess to the sidelines as he takes the helm at the Israeli club, aiming to emulate the triumphs of his playing days.
His foray into management began with ATK in India, where he held the dual role of player-manager before transitioning into assistant managerial roles with the Republic of Ireland and Middlesbrough.
Armed with a UEFA Pro Licence, Keane is ready to dive into the deep end of football management and make a mark with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Keane’s arrival at Celtic Park in January 2010 was met with immense excitement, as he was unveiled as a new signing on Deadline Day. In his time with the Hoops, the Irish striker made a significant impact, rewarding the fans’ fervour by netting 16 goals in 19 appearances.
Unfortunately, his stellar performance could not overturn the tide in the title chase or clinch the Scottish Cup, with the team’s run cut short in the semi-finals at Hampden.
Despite the disappointing season, Keane’s individual brilliance was recognised as he was voted Player of the Year by Celtic fans.
