Robbie Keane Finally Clears up Celtic Mystery

ROBBIE KEANE has finally cleared up one of the longest running jokes in football – what team did Robbie actually support as a boy.

Keane signed for Celtic on loan for six months back in 2010, in what was a dramatic deadline day coup for the club. At the time, Robbie insisted he was in dreamland and that he was in fact a Celtic fan.

“The club is massive.

“I am a Celtic fan and did not have to ask much about it.

“I always wanted to play for Celtic and it works for all parties.”

Keane would play in a hapless Celtic side, headed up by Tony Mowbray who didn’t last the season. Neil Lennon came in and had to pick up the pieces for the club after that.

The striker would go on his way that summer. Most clubs Robbie has signed for he’s been prone to bouts of hyperbelly, giving way to people mocking him when it came to sign for another club.

Speaking to Sky Sports recently – Robbie finally came clean and admitted he wasn’t a Celtic fan but instead a Liverpool supporter.

“I just love football!” Robbie told Sky as cited by SunSport.

“I think it was clear to see that I was a Liverpool fan so I was very, very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have played with them.”

The Irishman scored some cracking goals when he was at the club, but it’s clear to see he was getting fans onside and was perhaps a Celtic fan in the same way others pretend to be from the Premier League.
