A flurry of criticism has come Sky Sports‘ way after they released the post–split Premiership fixtures, with the broadcaster copping flak for picking exclusively matches involving Celtic and Rangers.

This has led to fans alleging the TV deal is not fit for purpose due to the broadcaster seemingly ignoring other clubs who are still in the title race and battling against relegation.
However, Football Scotland has now revealed that Sky did attempt to screen more matches, but clubs preferred to show them on their own channels via PPV. They had been in talks with clubs, about possibly attending the grounds for a fifth time this season, but the proposal was thrown out the window.
Celtic’s away match against Hibs hasn’t been selected for TV, with this report suggesting that it may be on the Edinburgh side’s PPV services. The St Mirren match at home also won’t be live on Sky.
From a neutral perspective, it’s disappointing that the race for third place and the relegation battle won’t be shown on Sky, with these matches always entertaining.
