LUIS Palma’s anticipated transfer to Celtic appears to be in its final stages.

The player notably missed training on Thursday and is expected to be absent from his team’s upcoming Sunday fixture.
The allure of European football seems to be a decisive factor for Palma. Despite receiving two lucrative offers from clubs outside Europe, the winger looks set to remain on the continent.
Greek publication Gazzetta reports that Palma is poised to turn down an enticing wage offer from Saudi Arabia, opting for Celtic’s deal, which is merely a third of what the Saudi club is tabling. Specifically, Celtic’s offer stands at £11,000 per week, amounting to an annual package of £500,000. In contrast, the Saudi proposal would see Palma earn a staggering £1.6 million annually.
Yet, the appeal of playing for Celtic and the prospect of staying in Europe seem paramount for Palma.
If the reports are accurate and he joins the Scottish giants, it will still be a significant pay rise for the winger. Currently earning £70,000 annually in Greece, the Celtic contract would augment his salary by almost sevenfold.
