It’s shaping up to be a very interesting week in Scottish football. If only we just had to sort out the league and how best to proceed. The sideshow going on about a dossier at the moment is doing no club any favours.
RecordSport revealed overnight there are at least five clubs who have called for an immediate end to the season and they have named them as Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Ross County, Hamilton and St Mirren.
All five clubs have revealed they would be unable to field a full team if the Scottish game resumed in the summer. There was hope if we hold on long enough, Celtic could get back to playing in a behind closed door capacity. However, the financial implications of contracts running out could see an end to that scenario.
The same report claim nine clubs in total are ready to vote to end the current season.
This is speculating but you would imagine the three would be Celtic, The Rangers and Hearts.
It’s always been Celtic’s preference to restart the season – this week could be pivotal in what happens next.
