Stephen McGowan has the ear of someone at Celtic. He breaks many Hoops related stories and he was the first one to get the news out about the Eddie Howe deal breaking down.
The journalist has delivered some insight into what’s going on at Celtic Park at this moment in time. There has been a lot of talk surrounding who will be Ange Postecoglou’s coaching team when he finally heads onto the Lennoxtown. According to the print edition of the Daily Mail [12/06/21], McGowan reports Celtic have told John Kennedy he still has a job at the club.
The journalist also claims Ange is in no rush to bring in any of his own staff, facilitating Kennedy and even Gavin Strachan staying on.
It’s incredible to think John will survive another manager leaving the club. I think John is a great guy, BUT this summer was and still is the time to go out and make it on his own.
The fact Celtic told us directly Eddie Howe was given a ‘blank slate’ for his coaching team means they were ready to sack the first team coach a few weeks ago, only now to change their mind when things deteriorated with Howe.
Surely John has some professional respect and wants to go out and make a name for himself – take the stabilisers off the bike and see what he can do when he is completely in charge.
