Reports: Tyrese Campbell to Celtic – Why Celtic Have the Advantage

CELTIC look like they’re becoming very active in the transfer market as it gets set to open in two weeks time. There’s no time to lose, with only a month to get deals over the line it makes sense the club are starting to move through their list of targets.

One man whose name has come up over the past 24 hours is Tyrese Campbell.

Tyrese, 19, is a striker who currently plays for Stoke City.

Once in the Manchester City youth system, the player is getting his chance for Stoke this season after being out on-loan to Shrewsbury last term.

However, the striker is yet to sign a new deal with Stoke and can speak to club’s as soon as January 1st. RecordSport claim Celtic are one of a number of clubs looking at the player, however, the advantage Celtic have over any English suitors would be they don’t have to pay a large development fee to sign the player.

Much like the Moussa Dembele deal from Fulham, there would be a small fee due but other than that, it would be a low risk, high reward investment.

Celtic’s transfer model is built on developing players, buying low and selling high. There’s a good few young star’s floating about Celtic’c developmental system who could one day star for the first team and earn the club massive fees.
