Celtic are reportedly still interested in making a move for Preston North End central defender Ben Davies who would no doubt come in and replace Christopher Jullien if he comes in this month
According to the Mail Online, the Hoops have continued their interest in Davies who rejected his latest contract offer from the English Championship side and is now free to talk to other clubs, going into the final six months of his contract.
Davies seems like a good target for Neil Lennon’s squad but Celtic face competition from clubs such as Sheffield United, Bournemouth and Genk in the pursuit for the 25-year old.
The club has also been linked in the last few days with one of Davies’ teammates, Ben Pearson on yet another pre-contract move.
We seem to be looking more towards these sort of pre-contract deals which would see players join the club in the summer and it certainly seems like sensible business to be doing that.
It is thought that the possibility of European football at both Celtic and Genk could be a factor in the defenders choice of move.
