This summer, former Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer completed a move away from Glasgow to join recently promoted English Premier League side Brentford.
Many Celtic fans expected the Norweigan to depart the club, with just one year remaining on his current contract, and recent comments suggested he would be looking for a move away.
With his contract situation being far from ideal, not many were sure what sort of money we may get for the 23-year old.

At first, reports stated that the club received a fee in the region of around £13.5 million.
However, according to the Daily Mail, it is stated that Brentford splashed out on a club-record fee of £17.5 million for the Hoops defender.
This looks like an incredibly shrewd piece of business from the club if that is the case. Add together the fact that we paid only £500,000 to sign Ajer, plus he was coming into the final 12 months of his contract.
It is also likely, similar to most sales the club makes, a sell-on clause might be inserted into the deal.
As a club in this day in age, this is the sort of business we should be conducting. Fingers crossed, we begin to see more of this regularly in years to come if teams from across Europe want to buy our assets.
