Celtic may have stepped away from the pursuit of Jakob Breum for now, but the door could still be open for a future move and at a much cheaper price.

According to RecordSport, the Danish under-21 international could be available for a fraction of his current valuation if he remains at Go Ahead Eagles until next summer.
The Eredivisie club are holding firm on their £6.5 million asking price, but it’s believed that number could drop to around £2 million if Breum sees out the upcoming campaign.
The Hoops have already made three bids for the 21-year-old, the latest being £2.6 million. That figure fell well short of the Dutch side’s demands, with sources indicating they’d accepted nothing under £5 million and even then, 25 percent of any final transfer fee would go to Breum’s former club, Odense, due to a sell-on clause.
Despite the rejection of their offers, Celtic did hold further talks in an attempt to find a breakthrough. However, as things stand, they appear to have pulled out of the race for this window.
With Breum’s value expected to drop next year, Celtic could simply be delaying their move to get the winger on a far cheaper deal in 2026. If the player continues to perform and maintains his level, a summer swoop next year could provide the club with the same talent for significantly less outlay.
