Reports Down South Claim Potential Celtic Return for £6m Man

The Newcastle Chronicle has claimed Celtic are interested in bringing Ki Sung-Yueng back to Parkhead this January but right now it seems like baseless stuff from the paper.

With Fraser Forster returning to Celtic in the summer and Neil Lennon back in charge, it has given way to many rumours about other old stars returning for the Hoops – from Joe Ledley to Gary Hooper.

Neil Lennon is on the lookout for a few new faces in January but there’s been no murmurings north of the border about a potential reunion between the pair.

Ki has fallen out of favour at St James Park and is on a massive wage – the thought is to get him off the wage bill so Newcastle and Steve Bruce can bring in some new faces.

However, Celtic aren’t in the market for a player like Ki at the moment and again, there’s nothing to suggest otherwise.

The midfielder spent over two years at Celtic with the club selling him to Swansea in 2012 when the Welsh club offering over £6m for his services (TransferMarkt).

The Chronicle’s first mention of the Ki rumour was on Christmas Eve with the site reiterating their belief in a recent article.
