Celtic goalkeeper Vasilias Barkas is reportedly set for a summer exit, with the players representatives looking for options elsewhere.
The 27-year old joined the club with high expectations in the summer of 2020 for a fee in the region of £5 million as Celtic looked to replace Fraser Forster.
However, it would be fair to say that it didn’t work out for the Greek internationalist, who has struggled to adapt to life in Glasgow.
According to reliable Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, Barkas’ representatives are now looking for options ahead of a summer exit as Celtic look to move the goalkeeper on.
Seems that Barkas will leave Celtic in summer. His side are checking options from now 🏴@CelticFC #Celtic #CelticFC #Barkas

There are a number of players who were expected to be moved on from the club at the beginning of a new era under Ange Postecoglou, and Barkas would have likely been amongst one of those names.
Despite being linked with an exit in the January window, nothing came about for the goalkeeper.
It simply hasn’t worked out for Barkas, who now finds himself well down the pecking order, behind the likes of Scott Bain and even young shot-stopped Tobi Oluwayemi.
So, it is best for all parties to move on, allowing Barkas to play football once again whilst getting big wages off the bill for the club.
