It has been rumoured for weeks but tonight a French news site Ladepeche has made the claim Christopher Jullien is in Paris to meet with his agent after Toulouse and Celtic agreed a fee for the towering centre back.
We prefix this by emphasising the word REPORT. It’s a French publication in Toulouse who have run the story and they seem pretty confident of themselves.
The report reads: (Loosely translated)
It was in the air for a few days. As we announced on Monday, Celtic Glasgow has made an offer for Christopher Jullien. The two clubs have agreed on the amount for the departure of the central defender Toulouse (1,96m, 88kg).
This Tuesday, Jullien was in Paris with his agents to finalize the last details of his departure.
Celtic have been in the hunt for a replacement for Dedryck Boyata, if they manage to persuade the defender to join Celtic it would be a massive boost for the club.
We posted earlier this evening that the defender had teased he was at an airport, shortly after he confirmed he was in Paris.
Neil Lennon knows his defence is a priority after so many departures this summer and 26-year-old Jullien is the type of defender the Irishman loves – strong with a great aerial presence.
If Celtic could get this deal over the line it would be a massive shot in the arm to the support who are already fatigued with transfer goings on.
The David Turnbull saga won’t seem to end with the player tonight not sure if he will make the move after a medical flagged something the club is concerned about.
