Reported Celtic Target Focused On This Season Despite European ‘Dream’

Over the weekend, Danish striker Matias Kvistgaarden was linked with a move to Celtic. The Hoops are considering a move for the Brondby frontman, although he is one of several names reportedly being considered.

Recently, the player has spoken about his future and ambitions. The 21-year-old said (Football Scotland): “The dream is of course to go and play abroad, outside Denmark at some point. But short term, I’m thinking about this season and here my aim is to get some goals and assists and produce some good performances.”

Kvitsgaarden wants to do well with Brondby in 2023/24, but one never knows what he would say if the Scottish champions came calling. We all know what the Hoops can offer to a player; additives such as Champions League football are extremely hard to turn down.

His goal record throughout his career so far is not the most prodigious, though. Kvistgaarden is still young but at the minute, Celtic need quality, first-team-ready players. The Denmark under-21 international still has lots to learn, and it can be argued that, at the minute, the Hoops have enough ‘project’ players.
