According to respected German publication Bild, Celtic managerial target Jesse Marsch could be set to head back to his former club as manager after he cancelled Celtic interest.
Marsch has been part of the red bull family since his time with the New York red bulls and he spent some time under Ralph Ragnick at Leipzig before moving to Red Bull Salzburg where he’s set to win his second title in two years.
Jesse said some very nice things about Celtic earlier this month which sent the Hoops support into a frenzy.
The American coach seems like a perfect fit for a complete rebuild but the excitement was short-lived when he mentioned he wasn’t ready to leave Salzburg.
However, he might be leaving Austria this summer after all and heading back to Germany to be the main man this time.
The Marsch interest flagged a very good point when it comes to bringing in the next Celtic manager. We need to take a risk on young manager’s early before they get into the system and become beyond our reach. While many fans might not have heard much of Marsch before this month, the manager already is held in very high esteem elsewhere it’s a struggle for Celtic to land a coach of his stature.
Enzo Maresca seems to be a guy who could end up a big deal.
