Luis Palma is expected to return to Celtic this summer following an underwhelming six-month loan spell at Olympiacos, but his long-term future in Glasgow remains in serious doubt. The Honduran winger joined the Greek side in January with hopes of reigniting his season after a stuttering campaign in Scotland.
He began brightly under boss José Luis Mendilibar but soon fell out of favour, struggling to adapt to the demands of a side that raised its performance level in the second half of the season. Despite arriving with enthusiasm, Palma failed to consistently impact games, and Olympiacos have no plans to activate a permanent deal.

Celtic are not planning to bring the 25-year-old back into Brendan Rodgers’ squad. The Hoops already have several wingers like Daizen Maeda, Nicolas Kuhn, Yang Hyun-jun, and James Forrest, and they’re also looking to sign a new one to cover for the injured Jota in the first half of next season.

Yet, interest in Palma remains within Greece. Despite a disappointing stint in Piraeus, Sportime report that other Super League sides continue to monitor his situation. Panathinaikos had listed him as a target as early as last December. AEK Athens went a step further, engaging in discussions with Celtic about a possible deal. PAOK, currently searching for reinforcements out wide, are also believed to be in the frame.
While his return to Scotland seems imminent, it may be a temporary stop. With multiple Greek giants circling, a third spell in the Super League for Palma cannot be ruled out. Celtic are expected to push for a resolution early in the window, with both the player and club keen to secure a resolution ahead of pre-season.
