Cremonese reportedly appear to be edging ahead in the race to sign Giuseppe Ambrosino from Napoli, with a fresh offer reportedly submitted as Celtic continue to explore the possibility of bringing the striker to Glasgow.

However, they face competition from several Italian clubs, including Cagliari and Cremonese, both are reportedly pushing to keep the player in Italy for the upcoming season.
Ambrosino spent last season on loan at Frosinone, where he netted five times, and Napoli are believed to be open to sending him out on another loan spell. While a loan with an option to buy has been reported , Cremonese are reportedly attempting to bypass that route entirely.
According to Italian journalist Horace Accomando, Cremonese have submitted a €3million (£2.5m) bid to sign Ambrosino on a permanent basis. The offer is said to include a sell-on clause, which would allow Napoli to benefit from any future transfer.

Meanwhile, Cagliari are said to be monitoring the situation closely and could still move for a loan deal if the opportunity arises.
Ambrosino’s next move is expected to be decided in the coming weeks, with Napoli weighing up their options. With Cremonese making a strong push and Celtic still involved, the striker’s future remains uncertain, though momentum appears to be shifting in favour of a permanent move within Italy.
