The Nigerian forward, who previously worked under Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City, has struggled for game time in Spain, making just 11 appearances this season without scoring. He only joined the Spanish outfit back last summer.

Sevilla are open to letting the 28-year-old leave in search of regular minutes, and Celtic are keen to bolster their attacking options following the departure of Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes in January .

Adams Idah is the current number one striker, but Rodgers knows he needs further depth after losing Kyogo.

Iheanacho enjoyed a productive spell at Leicester, netting 61 goals and providing 34 assists in 232 appearances before moving to Sevilla last summer. However, his time in La Liga has been underwhelming, and a reunion with Rodgers could provide a much-needed reset.

Celtic are preparing for a crucial second half of the season, with a potential domestic treble in sight and a Champions League knockout tie against Bayern Munich looming . The transfer window closes on Monday, giving the Hoops a short window to finalise any deals.
