Over the past day, there has been much speculation about the possibility of former manager Gordon Strachan being offered the role of Technical Director at the club.
A report late last night stated that the club was going to offer Strachan a senior role behind the scenes.
However, according to reports from the Scotsman, a source at the club has said that the Hoops aren’t looking to bring the 64-year old back to Parkhead behind the scenes.
“Meanwhile, a club source has dismissed speculation Gordon Strachan could be in line for the technical director position as Celtic’s revamp their football department around new manager Ange Postecoglou.
“Strachan currently operates in the role for Dundee, while son Gavin’s future as a current coach at the Parkhead club has yet to be clarified.”
There has been much discussion recently about the director of football role and a possible appointment with the club undergoing a rebuild both on and off the park.
Strachan currently does a similar role at Dundee, as Technical Director at the Dens Park side, who was recently promoted to the Scottish Premiership,
Whilst he has links to Celtic as the club’s former manager, many fans were left disappointed at the reports linking Strachan in this role.
Now that the speculation appears to have been cleared up, the club’s hunt for someone in that position goes on.
