Journalist Alex Huber has revealed that Rapid Wien are reportedly still planning to bring in Marco Tilio, but Celtic are refusing to sanction the move until they secure a new wide option of their own.
The Australian winger has struggled to make an impact at Parkhead since arriving in the summer of 2023, with limited minutes under Brendan Rodgers. Rapid Wien see the 23-year-old as a potential key addition, but the Austrian side will have to wait as Celtic face a shortage in the wide areas.

Rodgers currently has just four fit wingers at his disposal, including Tilio. With Nicolas Kuhn now gone and Yang Hyun-jun starting in pre-season, the Hoops are already light in attacking options. Daizen Maeda and James Forrest remain available, but the squad lacks depth for the demanding run of fixtures ahead.
It’s understood Celtic are actively working on a deal for a new winger, but until that signing is confirmed, Tilio’s exit will remain on hold.
The club are wary of leaving themselves exposed in the wide positions, especially with Champions League qualifiers and domestic fixtures coming thick and fast.
Tilio, who joined from Melbourne City, has endured a stop-start spell in Glasgow. Injury setbacks early in his Celtic career and strong competition for places limited his opportunities to impress.

With the transfer window entering its crucial final month, the Hoops’ recruitment team face a race to get a new winger through the door, and only then will Tilio be given the green light to leave.
