Celtic first-team coach Harry Kewell is set to depart the club to take up a managerial role at Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan. The Aussie will replace Kevin Muscat in the dugout, who carried on from Ange Postecoglou.
Kewell was absent in the champions’ 3-0 triumph at Dens Park on Tuesday, the club allowing him time off to finalise his move to the Far East. He once more won’t be involved in this weekend’s Glasgow derby and for the 45-year-old, Celtic are on the hunt for a replacement.

According to The Scottish Sun, with Kewell having agreed to become Yokohama’s boss, Rodgers will appoint his successor in January. One imagines the Irishman will want whoever it may be in before the winter break ends.
Currently, there are no indications of who may come through the door. Chris Davies worked closely with Rodgers in his first spell in charge, but he is now with Postecoglou at Spurs.
Kolo Toure became a coach in Glasgow after initially playing for the Hoops and he went with the gaffer to Leicester. Last year, he became manager of Wigan but lasted just nine games in the job. Now, he is without a club.
The Ivorian could be a candidate given his history with Rodgers, although it remains to be seen who the double-treble-winning manager will appoint. There will be no rush made in the decision because it is a pivotal one.
