Celtic are weighing up a move for Slovan Bratislava striker David Strelec as they seek to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window shuts on Monday night. [Record Sport]
The Slovakian international, who played against the Hoops in their 5-1 Champions League victory last November, is high on Brendan Rodgers’ list of targets.
The need for reinforcements up front has become pressing following the departure of Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes earlier this month .
Celtic have identified Strelec as a potential replacement, but they are also tracking Brondby’s Mathias Kvistgaarden. However, negotiations with the Danish club have stalled over their £10 million-plus valuation.

Strelec, 23, has been in fine form for Slovan Bratislava, netting 15 goals this season, including five in the Champions League and qualifiers. His strikes against Dinamo Zagreb and Atletico Madrid highlighted his ability to deliver at the highest level. The forward has also made 28 appearances for Slovakia, scoring seven times.
Middlesbrough have already had a bid knocked back for Strelec, and Slovan have made it clear they will only part with their prized asset if the price is right. The striker previously had spells in Italy with Spezia and Reggina before returning to Slovakia.
With time running out before the window closes on Monday, Celtic are working to strengthen their squad as they prepare for a crucial second half of the season .
