Birmingham City are waiting on Celtic to give the final green light for the transfer of winger Yang Hyun-jun, with the move edging closer as deadline day approaches.
Talks between the two clubs have progressed over the weekend, and according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, the initial fee has now risen to around £3 million.
Add-ons are still being negotiated, but the overall package is believed to be nearing agreement.
If Celtic sanction the deal, Yang could travel to Birmingham as early as tonight to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms. The Championship side are keen to get the move done quickly, and Yang is understood to be open to the switch if terms are agreed.
Yang joined Celtic in the summer of 2023 from Gangwon FC in a deal worth around £2.1 million. While he has shown glimpses of ability during his time in Glasgow, he has struggled to hold down a consistent place in the starting XI. A sale to Birmingham at the reported fee would represent a profit on the initial outlay just over a year ago.
Brendan Rodgers has remained cautious in discussing potential outgoings, making it clear that any departures must be balanced with adequate cover. With just hours left in the window, it remains to be seen if Celtic are ready to lose another attacking option without a replacement lined up.

Birmingham are pushing to bolster their wide areas and view Yang as a high-upside, versatile addition. The 23-year-old’s pace and direct style have made him a standout in short spells, and the English club appear confident he can develop further in the Championship.
The final decision now rests with Celtic, who must weigh short-term squad needs against the potential value of cashing in.
