Report: Celtic Sign Little Known English Midfielder

According to reports down south, Celtic ave won the race to sign young Scunthorpe attacking midfielder Joey Dawson, nephew of former Spurs defender, Michael Dawson.

The 17-year-old has only ever had one first team appearance for the English lower league side but has been highly coveted by Championship clubs.

Iron-bru.co.uk claim Celtic have signed the player on his first professional contract and will only have to pay a nominal UEFA imposed training fee for Joey.

The only publication confirming this deal at the moment is the aforementioned Scunthorpe website.

Celtic could be looking to replenish their youth ranks and get prepared for the Scottish Lowland leagues next season when the colt site enters the competition.

The opportunity to field a young side in the Lowland League will be a major boost for the club and will give the Celtic coaches a better idea of who can go on and make the grade at the first team level.

If Joey has signed for the Hoops, it’s certainly not been a first team buy.
