Sources in Japan tonight appear confident Daizen Maeda is on his way to Celtic and have revealed how they believe the deal will be stuctured

According to Japanese site Hochi, the Hoops will sign Maeda on a six month loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.

The striker has been linked with the Hoops for quite some time and there have been rumours of a Celtic medical in recent days.

It’s an another big indicator Celtic look set to land one of Ange’s top January targets.

Some fans will groan because of the potential loan deal aspect but it could be the right move for all involved. Kyogo’s rise at Celtic has put pressure on any other J-League star coming into the club.

If they don’t hit the ground running, some fans will quickly begin to heap pressure on them.

Maeda looks the part and knows Ange’s system very well. If all goes to plan, Celtic could be onto a winner – regardless of the set up.
