Report: Celtic Prepare Third Bid for Kasper Dolberg

Celtic are reportedly set to return with a third offer for Kasper Dolberg, as negotiations with Anderlecht continue to drag into the final 24 hours of the transfer window.

According to DH les Sports, the Belgian club have knocked back two previous bids from Celtic for the Danish striker, but the Hoops remain determined to get a deal over the line.

It’s understood a new proposal is being prepared in an effort to break the deadlock in negotiations.

Dolberg, 27, has been identified as a key target by Brendan Rodgers, who is desperate to add firepower to a Celtic side that has looked toothless in attack in recent weeks.

Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Ibrox only reinforced the need for a proven goalscorer, with the Hoops once again struggling to convert possession into chances.

Anderlecht are said to be open to a sale due to financial pressure and a lack of European football, but they are holding firm on their valuation. Reports earlier this week suggested Celtic had offered in the region of £8 million, but it remains unclear what level the third bid will reach.

Dolberg has scored 34 goals in 72 league appearances for Anderlecht and remains a regular for the Danish national team, with 55 caps and 12 international goals to his name. His pedigree and profile make him an appealing option for Rodgers, who has already spoken publicly about the urgent need to add more creativity and threat in the final third.

With time running out before the deadline, Celtic’s recruitment team are now in a race to finalise a deal that could prove crucial to the club’s ambitions this season.
