Celtic are reportedly closing in on the sensational return of Kieran Tierney, with hopes of finalising a pre-contract agreement as early as next week, SunSport reports.

The move, which has been in the works since Arsenal confirmed they would not activate a one-year extension on Tierney’s contract, marks a significant step toward bringing the 27-year-old defender back to Parkhead.
Discussions between Celtic and Tierney’s representatives are well underway, with both sides keen to seal the deal. Tierney has long expressed a desire to return to his boyhood club.
According to SunSport, Celtic are moving swiftly to fend off interest from Premier League and European clubs monitoring Tierney’s situation. The Scotland international will be a free agent in the summer, making him one of the most attractive defensive prospects on the market.
Brendan Rodgers, who managed Tierney during his first spell at Celtic, is said to have placed the left-back at the top of his January transfer wish list.
While the current focus is on securing a pre-contract agreement for the 2025-26 season, there remains a possibility that Celtic could negotiate a deal with Arsenal to bring Tierney back this month. However, the immediate priority is to lock in a long-term agreement and ensure the defender’s return to Paradise is guaranteed.
With talks progressing rapidly, Celtic are optimistic about making an official announcement in the coming days.
