Celtic have reportedly been granted permission to enter discussions with Nordsjaelland winger Benjamin Nygren as the Hoops push ahead with their summer transfer business.
Celtic have moved quickly to open negotiations with the player’s representatives in a bid to sign him ahead of the new season.

The 23-year-old Sweden international, who is currently on holiday, has just six months remaining on his contract with the Danish club.

Despite the limited time left on his deal, Nordsjaelland are under no immediate pressure to sanction a sale, knowing there is interest elsewhere in Europe. Clubs from the Bundesliga and Belgium are also tracking Nygren’s situation.
Celtic, however, are hopeful they can steal a march on their rivals. After making an official approach, CeltsAreHere understands talks between the player’s camp and the Hoops are already underway. Should personal terms be agreed, Celtic will then enter direct negotiations with Nordsjaelland to thrash out a fee.
While discussions remain ongoing, the initial valuation being discussed sits at around £2 million. That figure reflects both Nygren’s contract situation and Nordsjaelland’s willingness to receive compensation rather than lose the player for nothing when his deal expires.
The Swedish playmaker would represent a shrewd signing, as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his attacking options.

Nygren’s ability to operate across the forward line would add versatility and depth to the squad, with the club aiming to ensure a strong European campaign alongside domestic success next season.
For now, the decision appears to rest with Nygren himself as Celtic await further progress in negotiations over the coming weeks.
