Report: Celtic Face Norwich Battle for Talented Winger

Celtic will reportedly look to sign a new winger this summer. There is reported interest in Daizen Maeda from Turkish club Fenerbahce, and Jota is still out with a long-term injury. These issues leave Celtic short of options out wide, even with Nicolas Kuhn and James Forrest in the squad.

One name being linked is Tyrhys Dolan. The 23-year-old winger has just finished a good season with Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship. He scored and assisted 13 times in 44 league games. Dolan’s contract is ending, and he hasn’t agreed to a new deal with Blackburn. That means he could be available for free, with only a small fee due for training compensation.

Reports say Celtic are watching him, but they are not the only club interested. The Pink Un report that Norwich City are also said to be keen and have made Dolan a top target. They believe the compensation fee is affordable, so money won’t stop them from making a move.

Dolan would give Celtic pace and energy on the wing. He can play on either side and is known for his dribbling and quick feet. He also has plenty of experience for a young player and has played over 150 games in England’s second tier.

Nicolas Kuhn started strongly last season and scored important goals; however, his form dipped drastically in the second half of the season, Bayern Munich away aside. He has also been linked with clubs in England, including Leeds United and Newcastle United. Those rumours have gone quiet, but interest could return.

James Forrest is still at the club, but at 33 he can’t be relied upon to start week in, week out. Marco Tilio will return from his loan in Australia, and there are no signs yet that he’ll be part of the plans next season, with Luis Palma reportedly in a similar position. With Maeda possibly leaving and Jota still injured, Celtic may not want to take any risks.

The big question is whether Dolan wants to stay in England or try something new. At Celtic, he would have the chance to win trophies and play in Europe. That could be a big pull for a player looking to take the next step.

If Celtic want Dolan, they may need to move fast. Norwich and possibly other clubs are ready to make their move. The summer window is just starting, but this one could heat up quickly.
