Report – Celtic Enquire About Young Bayern Goalkeeper

Celtic are in the market for a goalkeeper following the retirement of Joe Hart just over a week ago.

The big Englishman was given the ideal send-off as he kept a clean sheet in the Scottish Cup final to win the Hoops the double.

The sun set on his illustrious career in the best possible fashion and already, he seems to be enjoying his retirement.

Last week, he was pictured at Josip Juranovic’s wedding before a brilliant video of him singing ‘Don’t worry, be happy’ surfaced.

Hart’s love for Celtic is undying but the club need to move on and find a replacement for him.

Already this summer, it feels as though the champions have been linked with every goalkeeper under the sun, and a new name has emerged in their search for a new number one.

According to German outlet BILD, the Bhoys have enquired to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich about the possibility of signing their young stopper Daniel Peretz.

The 23-year-old joined Bayern last year for five million euros (Transfermarkt) from Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Israeli but also eligible for Germany, Peretz has registered just two appearances since moving to Munich.

He has failed to get ahead of veteran duo Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich and thus will leave this summer.

Despite this, he has four years remaining on his contract in Munich and any departure looks like it will be a loan. Due to this, one questions whether he would be a prosperous addition to Brendan Rodgers’ squad.

The Hoops need stability between the sticks, and cannot rely on a temporary fix in such a key position.
