Report: Celtic Backroom Duo Set for Summer Parkhead Exit

Celtic recruitment chief Gary Penrice is reportedly set to exit the club alongside Nicky Hammond in the summer.

As reported by Football Insider both are supposedly set to leave after what has been an extremely poor season on and off the park, when it comes to recruitment.

Hammond is a more public figure of the two and has come under a lot of stick for some of the deals completed this summer including the likes of Vasilias Barkas and Shane Duffy who haven’t exactly gone to plan. However, Penrice will most definitely have played a part in naming these recruits as suitable targets.

The news of their exits coincides with the club’s plans for a complete rebuild, from what seems to be top to bottom in the backroom staff as well as what is expected to be a massive overhaul within the playing squad.

With the news of incoming CEO Dominic McKay, the departure of Neil Lennon and the plans to put in place a new Sporting Director with interviews already taking place appears to show the club is starting to take shape ahead of the summer.

There is still a lot of work to do in a lot of departments but this is certainly a good start.
