Reports claim the English Championship side are now in talks with Girona over a potential deal.

Miovski left Aberdeen for Spain last summer after two strong seasons at Pittodrie, where he scored 44 goals in 98 games. His time at Girona, though, hasn’t gone to plan.

He’s struggled to hold down a regular place in the side and scored only four goals in 25 appearances. Girona are now believed to be open to selling the North Macedonian forward.

Celtic have been watching the situation closely. The club are looking to add more firepower up front and see Miovski as a player who knows the Scottish game well and can score goals.

He caused problems for defences across the league during his time at Aberdeen and fits the profile of striker Brendan Rodgers has looked to add.

While Celtic have long been linked with Miovski, Birmingham are the first to make a concrete approach.

They’re hoping to add goals to their side as they look to bounce back from a difficult season in the Championship. Their interest could force other clubs to act quickly if they want to land the player.

It remains to be seen whether Celtic will step up their interest now that another club is involved. Miovski would likely be keen on more regular football after a frustrating spell in Spain, and a return to Scotland might appeal.

But if Birmingham can strike a deal with Girona, Celtic could miss out unless they move soon.

Birmingham are already building a strong connection to Scottish football. They signed Kyogo earlier this summer and are managed by former Hoops coach Chris Davies.

The English side also have Tomoki Iwata, strengthening the links between the clubs and adding a familiar face for Miovski if he chooses to move.

For now, the Hoops remain in the picture, but they’ll need to decide if Miovski is the striker they want to go all-in for this summer.

With the new season just around the corner, decisions won’t be delayed much longer.
