Liam Shaw hasn’t been used as much as he might have been this season.

After signing for Celtic the midfielder found himself in and out of the team as Sheffield Wednesday tried to stave off relegation to League One.

Unfortunately, former Celtic star Patrick Roberts scored in a 3-3 draw with Derby that saw Wayne Rooney’s side stay up while Darren Moore and Wednesday were sent crashing out of the Championship.

Liam signed on a pre-contract deal in January and will join up with Celtic in the summer. Even though the midfielder is on his way to Glasgow shortly, sitting on the bench watching the side go down today will have hurt Liam.

Hopefully the player comes into Lennoxtown raring to go and ready to make an impact.

There’s a big opportunity for young players to show they have what it takes to be part of next season’s squad.

We just need a manager in place who can make these decisions.
