Released By Celtic, Youngster Still Looking for New Club

Celtic youngster, Liam Burt has been linked with a move out of the club since the beginning of the window after being deemed surplus to requirements. We have reached deadline day and the attacking midfielder is still on the lookout for a club.

According to Sun Sport, Burt had recently been training with Championship side Barnsley, who of course just signed another Celtic academy graduate Jack Aitchison, and had even played, and scored in a bounce game against the likes of Sheffield Wednesday.

However, Barnsley opted against handing Burt a deal and he is still on the look-out for a new club.

The 21-year old controversially rejoined the club after having a trial, just last year. After being at the club from a young age, Burt was allowed to go out to city rivals Rangers but then returned to the club.

It will be interesting to see if Burt manages to find one before the deadline, or if he will ultimately be released by the club, which will allow him to freely sign for another club at a later date
