John Beaton has been appointed referee for Celtic’s home clash with Aberdeen on Tuesday night, with Greg Aitken on VAR duties at Clydesdale House.

The match will be shown live on Sky Sports, while international Celtic TV subscribers can also watch live coverage.

The appointment of the officials didn’t come until after the weekend’s controversy at Easter Road, where VAR ruled out a Celtic equaliser without a clear camera angle. That decision continues to be scrutinised by the club and supporters.
Brendan Rodgers’ side will be looking to return to winning ways after a 2-1 defeat to Hibernian on Saturday. It was only Celtic’s second league defeat of the season, but the manner of the loss has left a sour taste, especially with the first-half performance. The disallowed Daizen Maeda goal, ruled out due to an alleged ball over the byline, remains a major talking point as Celtic await further clarification from the SFA.
Despite that setback, Celtic remain 13 points clear at the top of the table, and a victory against Aberdeen would push them another step closer to the league title and further ahead of Rangers who play on Wednesday.
Aberdeen arrive at Celtic Park with newfound confidence. Having ended a 14-game Scottish Premiership winless streak at Dens Park, the Dons have won back-to-back league games and also secured a Scottish Cup victory, making it three wins in a row in all competitions.
Celtic, however, boast a near-perfect defensive record at home, conceding just two goals in the Premiership at Parkhead all season—both coming in the 2-2 draw with Aberdeen in October. Rodgers will be eager to see his side respond with a strong performance, ensuring no further slip-ups in their push for the title.
