The 41-year-old is no stranger to Celtic fans, having previously officiated Celtic’s 3-1 win over fellow German opposition RB Leipzig on November 5th at Celtic Park.

Supporters will be hoping he can bring the same good luck charm he provided against Marco Rose’s side in that huge win, which proved vital in securing a place in the top 24, sealing tomorrow night’s game.

Bastien has proven to be a positive figure for Celtic in European games, having officiated two other matches, both of which resulted in victories against Feyenoord and Cluj at Celtic Park.

During the match against Feyenoord, he awarded Celtic a penalty, with Luis Palma converting from the spot in a 2-1 win over the Dutch side in December 2023

Celtic head into their game against Bayern with James Forrest and Paulo Bernardo set to be the only players missing. Rodgers revealed during Friday’s press conference that Forrest is likely to miss the game after re-joining training on Thursday.
