Celtic are playing a waiting game to see if the season can restart. If not, there’s now a plan in place which would see Celtic crowned champions.
The bhoys have been relentless this year before the shutdown and did more than enough to make a massive gap between them and second place.
The debate over the outcome of the league has been as clear as mud at times but null and void was never on the table.
The Rangers wanted a scenario where they could have the best of both worlds and get prize money without conceding the title — that’s not what’s going to happen.
Harry Redknapp keeps up to date with Scottish football and the Englishman is clear that nobody can deny Celtic this title.
“I watched them batter Celtic in the League Cup final but lose, and then I also saw them win well at Celtic Park. I thought then the league would go all the way to the wire.” Redknapp told SunSport.
“Now, though, it’s Celtic’s title. I don’t care what anyone says. Yes, I know Stevie hasn’t won anything so far but people should not underestimate him.
“There are so many examples of great players not becoming great managers. I go as far back as Bobby Charlton. It didn’t work out either for Bobby Moore, but he never really got a chance. Stevie will be different, though.
“The first half of this season Rangers were looking very good. I don’t know what happened, if anything, during the winter break in Dubai for things to go so badly.”
Celtic were top of the league in December having played a game more.
Both clubs went to Dubai with only one coming back ready for the battle.
Celtic will either get to play out the season and become champions or be crowned 13 points clear.
