REAL MADRID winger Rodrygo has claimed that the team fielded against Celtic won’t matter, with the Spanish side turning to their depth for the opening match of the Champions League group stages.
The manager has already admitted that Benzema may start on the bench, hinting he’s planning to rest players with a hectic schedule looming.
It’s nothing but arrogance from the side, Celtic are more than capable of getting a result on Tuesday night, and Real Madrid is underestimating the ability of Postecoglou’s side.
“We are all very excited about starting our defence of the trophy in Glasgow. I believe we have a really strong squad this season.
“It’s a busy period with two games in a week, but we love that. It’s always better to be playing games. Whatever team we pick on Tuesday it won’t matter because we are so strong in all positions across the pitch.
“We have started the season well. We have won our first four La Liga games, but this is only the beginning.
“It’s a joy to play under a coach like Carlo Ancelotti and I think we will improve as the season goes on. He asks us to play in a special way I am very happy to play for him.”

Like Celtic, Tuesday’s visitors have a 100% start to their league campaign. Although, it’s fair to say Los Blancos haven’t been on the best of form, scraping by some games, like their opening day victory over newly promoted Almira. In their opening four matches, the side has conceded four goals and scored eleven.
If Celtic turn up on Tuesday, they can give Real Madrid a shock and potentially get something from the match. It’s going to be a challenge for Celtic for sure, but Rodrygo’s arrogant statement about taking three points for granted is wide of the mark.
