50 Cent Eyes Celtic Park Visit During TRNSMT Trip
Celtic fans may have an unexpected supporter in their midst next year, as hip-hop icon 50 Cent has revealed plans to take in a game at Parkhead during his visit to Scotland.
The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, was recently announced as a headline act for the 2024 TRNSMT Festival at Glasgow Green. While music will be his primary focus, the New York star is also keen to experience the passion of Celtic’s support – thanks in part to Hollywood actor and Celtic superfan Gerard Butler.
Gerard Butler’s Influence
50 Cent and Butler, who starred together in the 2018 film Den of Thieves, formed a close bond during filming. According to 50, the Scottish actor’s love for Celtic was impossible to ignore.
As quoted by SunSport, 50 Cent said:
“Man, Gerard is crazy about Celtic. I don’t think I have ever met somebody more in love with their team. We are going to watch a Celtic game together. That guy won’t miss a game even when he’s shooting. He must go up another level when he’s actually at the stadium.”
The rapper added:
“If I went to watch a game in Scotland, it would have to be Celtic. He would never forgive me if I went to watch anybody else.”

A Hoops Convert?
While 50 Cent has never publicly pledged allegiance to any one team, he has dabbled in the sporting world. His company, Sire Spirits, has partnerships with several high-profile American sports franchises. He’s also been spotted supporting the Houston Astros and famously sponsored a girls’ under-14s football team in Cardiff.
Now, thanks to Butler’s influence, it seems the rapper could become a more active follower of the green and white hoops.
Other Celtic Celebrity Fans
50 Cent wouldn’t be the first American celebrity to express an interest in Celtic. Snoop Dogg, Coolio, Jon Hamm, and Lana Del Rey, have all been linked to the club, although the depth of their support is often debated.
When Could 50 Visit Celtic Park?
Celtic won’t be in action on the weekend of TRNSMT, so it won’t be this visit him and Gerard Butler are pulling the windfall ticket. With Celtic pushing for their 55th league title this year, the rapper could touch down on Scottish soil with the SPFL trophy wrapped up.
