Celtic made it into the Scottish Cup final this afternoon as Jota’s header proved the difference in the Glasgow derby.
The Hoops were professional throughout the 90 minutes to secure victory. Here are three things we learned.
Returning Jota Proves His Worth
Celtic got a huge boost midweek with the confirmed return of Jota and today, the Portuguese lived up to the expectation.
The wide-man played 66 minutes and was the difference maker.
Just before half time, Daizen Maeda crossed accurately to the back post and Jota nodded home.
He wheeled away in celebration and it is fair to say his return from injury was pivotal.
Celtic’s superstar from Portugal now has three goals in Glasgow derbies this season.
Celtic Utterly Solid At The Back
Particularly in the second half, Rangers put a heap of pressure on Celtic’s backline although the Hoops were utterly sound defensively.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, who was playing through the pain barrier, was arguably man of the match, winning countless duels and playing out from the back immaculately.
Moreover, despite Alistair Johnston having to be brought off through injury 54 minutes in, no stability was lost with Anthony Ralston coming in and proving a more than sufficient option off the bench.
The Treble Is Well And Truly On
As a result of today’s win, Celtic’s treble is well and truly on.
The Hoops are into the Scottish Cup final where they will play Inverness at Hampden on Saturday the 3rd of June and are just one win away from winning the league.
With the league cup already in the bag, it may not be long before the Bhoys win a world record eighth domestic treble.

Today’s victory proved Celtic’s resilience and character.
The Bhoys are truly an indomitable side and it looks like this will be proved with the treble looking ever more likely as the weeks transpire.
