Radical TV Plans Being Considered Which Could Impact Celtic

One of the major contingency plans being looked at to contain coronavirus in the U.K is to cancel large events or have them played behind closed doors.

Spain, Italy, Germany and France have already taken action when it comes to football and as things develop, containment measures are being increased.

The Government are holding meetings on a regular basis and have been working out plans for many things in the event of parts of the country or events being closed to the public.

SunSport reports the two major football broadcasters Bt and Sky Sports have been asked to ‘work out the financial ramifications of being asked to block feeds to pubs or make coverage free-to-air so people can watch at home.’

According to the Times, the broadcasters could be forced to show games for FREE to homes up and down the country to prevent mass gatherings.

This could leave Celtic fans watching the team play a portion of games from their armchair should strong containment measures come into force.

Pubs might take a hit but carry out shops would be booming!
