It’s been a day full of twists and turns for Celtic, and they’ve not stopped as we enter the final hours.

It has now emerged that Hammarby have accepted Celtic’s improved offer for winger Sebastian Tounekti as both clubs race to beat the transfer deadline.
Expressen reports that Celtic’s latest bid – worth 70 million kronor (approximately £5.5 million) including bonuses – has now been accepted, just hours after Hammarby’s sporting director publicly insisted they had “no ambition” to sell the 23-year-old Tunisia international.
The report adds that Tounekti has agreed personal terms with Celtic and will sign a four-year contract, earning around 10 million kronor per year (roughly £740,000 annually).
The sudden change of heart from the Swedish side means it’s now a race against the clock to complete the paperwork before Scotland’s 11pm transfer deadline. If clearance comes in time, Tounekti will travel to Glasgow immediately to undergo a medical and finalise the move.
The rapid development caps off a chaotic day in the transfer window for Celtic, who are still working to bring in attacking reinforcements following their shock Champions League exit last week.
Brendan Rodgers has been vocal about the need for wide options, and if the deal is completed in time, Tounekti will become the club’s 10th summer signing.
More to follow as the deadline approaches.
