Queens Park Starlet On Celtic’s Radar

It has been confirmed that both Celtic and Rangers have made attempts to sign Queens Park star Cameron Bruce [Scottish Sun].

The youngster made his debut for the Spiders in March last season and has already caught the eye and is quickly becoming one of the hottest young prospects in Scotland.

Owen Coyle’s side have started the season off well sitting just one point off the top spot in the Scottish Championship with the left-back featuring on the bench alongside Celtic loanee Johnny Kenny at the weekend.

The youngster was given a two-year pro contract only a matter of months ago and is already attracting interest from a number of clubs in both Scotland and England.

Bruce has been at Queens Park since before he was nine years old and has made his way through the ranks at the club. It is believed that Coyle’s side has no interest on cashing in just yet.

He has already made his debut for Scotland at U17 level in February and will likely want to kick on this season once again.

With Kenny having made the move to the Spiders, Bruce may wonder what would be the point in joining Celtic just now as he would likely get loaned out again.

Under Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea it is hoped a pathway is created for younger players but Celtic haven’t reached that point yet.
