Former Scotland and Chelsea player, Pat Nevin, has recommended Chelsea to consider signing Celtic’s striker Kyogo Furuhashi to address their current striker issues.

Nevin is confident that Furuhashi could be the solution to the challenges faced by Mauricio Pochettino early this season, given the Japanese striker’s impressive goal-scoring record.
Since joining Celtic in the summer of 2021 under Ange Postecoglou, Furuhashi has been in sensational form, leading him to secure a new long-term deal with the club.
However, Nevin believes that Furuhashi would be an ideal fit for Chelsea, urging the club to prioritise him over other potential signings like Callum Wilson.
Chelsea have been linked with Napoli star Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney in recent days.
Nevin shared his thoughts with OLBG, stating, “Chelsea won’t get Callum Wilson or many other proven strikers. I think Kyogo Furuhashi at Celtic would be a good move, too, as he’d finish off a lot of the missed chances. Chelsea will have a lot of options, but they’ve already signed a huge amount of players. They also have Nkunku to come back and I think Broja will shock everyone.”
It is unlikely that Celtic or their manager, Brendan Rodgers, would be willing to let go of Furuhashi for cheap, especially given the new deal that he penned in the summer.
