Pundit ‘Surprised’ Celtic Won Race for Midfielder; PL Interest Revealed

CELTIC announced Matt O’Riley to be their fifth January transfer signing. Sky Sports’ Transfer Reporter Micheal Bridge has revealed that Celtic had to shake off other clubs south of the border from the Premier League and the Championship.

Matt has been superb since he arrived at Celtic, and he has shown to be great on the ball and has an eye for goal. The soon to be Danish international has slotted into Ange’s system extremely well and is close to displacing Tom Rogic.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Micheal Bridge remarked;

“Matt O’Riley, a few eyebrows were raised there because some Premier League and Championship clubs were looking at him, and all of a sudden, Celtic won the race.”

Surprisingly, Celtic can beat clubs down south to a player’s signature in this age of football. Most recently, Riley McGree chose to sign for Middlesbrough because of the financial benefits.

Celtic can offer unique experiences, especially with Ange in the driver’s seat. The fast flowing attacking football is every footballer’s dream to be a part of. Also, the Parkhead club can offer unique experiences, like playing in front of 60,000 people almost every week. European nights and derby games are raved about all over the world.
