Pundit Slams ‘unbelievably arrogant’ Celtic Hierarchy; Season Ends With Dubai Trip

Sky Sports pundit and former Celtic striker Andy Walker has hit out at the Celtic board after the controversy surrounding the recent warm-weather training trip to Dubai last week.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Walker was very critical asking several questions of those involved in setting up the trip to Dubai, with the amount of money involved in something like this and also demanded that fans deserve answers around us.

“Apparently there is no money in Scottish football?  I’m guessing this trip that Celtic went on to Dubai cost hundreds of thousands of pounds.

“They chartered their own aircraft, staying five nights in five-star accommodation for 20-30 people.

“It is dismal governance from the club. It is unbelievably arrogant to abuse your status as an elite sportsman.

“That was only brought in for international and European competition – not for a jolly to Dubai.

“The Celtic supporters deserve a bit of contrition from someone, anyone with a backbone at this club, preferably Dermot Desmond. He’s the one that makes the big changes. They are being short-changed and it is completely unacceptable.”

At the minute, there are so many questions with this situation that remain unanswered at this stage.

We have ultimately suffered from those actions finding ourselves without 13 first-team players who could have featured this evening.

Its an extremely frustrating situation. At the same time though, it doesn’t feel like this is the end and more consequences could still yet to come.

We really just have to hope that nothing does affect us further, in what is an already depleted squad facing what can probably be described as a crisis.
