SCOTT BAIN has become a forgotten player in recent times, only featuring twice for Ange Postecoglou, with his last appearance coming in the dead-rubber Europa League match against Real Betis.

Alan Hutton has posed the question of whether Scott Bain is content with his ‘cheerleader‘ role at Celtic, with the former Rangers defender suggesting that as long as the Scottish stopper keeps standards high, then he will remain part of the squad.
He’s recently come back into the matchday squads, with Ben Siegrist struggling with injuries.
Questioning if Bain will settle at being a ‘cheerleader’ who won’t get much game time, Hutton said: [Football Insider]
“It really comes down to what he wants.
“Does he want to continue playing or is he happy at a big club where they are going to win trophies and he is happy just being part of that?
“I have come across goalkeepers that actually quite like that role, of being a supporter, being a good guy around the club, keeping standards high. He might like that.
“He might feel that he wants to be part of the winning team and go down in history as winning a treble or whatever it may be.
“It is really going to fall on his lap, does he want to play football week in week out or is he happy to sit there and be a cheerleader at times.“
Celtic will be scanning the market for a replacement for Joe Hart, who isn’t getting any younger. The keeper has a deal that lasts until the end of next season, but he’s still performing at a decent level, pulling off some great saves in some big moments this season.
